Maasai Ostrich Farm is set in 200 acres of rolling grasslands, on the Athi River/Kitengela plains, 45 kilometers from Nairobi and about 30minutes drive from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

Ostrich is one of the largest living species of bird in the world. Ostriches are known for their amazingly long necks, lofty heights, two toes and large eye ball. There are 2 types of ostriches at the farm; the Somali ostrich with blue-neck and the Masai ostrich which has a pink neck and legs.  The ostrich is the largest bird in the world and cannot fly but can run up to 70 kilometers per hour.

In the tour farm you have an opportunity to be up close and personal with ostriches. You get to tour the farm and learn the way the birds are bred in different age groups, from babies to adults.

There also are plenty of opportunities to catch an appropriate memento image—or a selfie with the birds. There is also the opportunity to hand-feed the ostriches, and if the weather is good, you can even take an ostrich ride!

After the tour you’ll have lunch with ostrich meat that’s low in cholesterol. Later inside the afternoon you can swim as you loosen up before we return again to the city.

Day trip to Lake Nakuru National park, departing from Nairobi City. The park boasts a large population of Rhino, Lion, Giraffe, Buffalo, Leopard, Water buck as well as many other species of game. In addition the highlight of Lake Nakuru is its mass of Greater and Lessor Flamingo’s which can be found feeding in the shallows of the lake. Also one of the most promising park to see rhino and leopard

What to Expect
Lake Nakuru, a small (it varies from 5 to 30 square kilometers) shallow alkaline lake on the edge of the town of Nakuru lies about 160 kilometers north of Nairobi. It can therefore be visited in a day tour from the capital or more likely as part of a circuit taking in the Masai Mara or Lake Baringo and east to Samburu.

The lake is world famous as the location of the greatest bird spectacle on earth – myriads of fuschia pink flamingoes whose numbers are legion, often more than a million maybe two. The park now has more than 25 rhinos, one of the largest concentrations in the country, so the chances of spotting these survivors are good.
There are also a number of Rothschild’s giraffe, again translocated for safety from western Kenya beginning in 1977. Waterbuck are very common and both the Kenya species are found here. Among the predators are lion and leopard, the latter being seen much more frequently in recent times.
