Samburu Simba lodge is 300 km north of Nairobi, in Buffalo Springs Game reserve.The entire ecosystem in this area is sustained mainly by the water from Uaso Nyiro where there’s a narrow band of doum palms, riverine forests and grasslands. The high faunal concentration at the waterholes and riverbank is a gift for the wildlife watcher.

Guest cottage:
Samburu Simba Lodge has 18 cottages and over 70 rooms. The rooms are spacious, well furnished with a reading desk and several lounge chairs. The bathrooms have a shower with warm and cold water. The rooms have an over head fan, telephone extension. Mosquito nets & hair dryers are available upon request. There is also a large terrace that faces the river valley below, where you are able to see a variety of bird life and elephants roaming, especially in the morning. There are also facilities with internet access and network coverage for cell phone usage.

Lounge:
You can spend your free time cooling off in the swimming pool or watching wildlife at a watering hole from the lounge. Enjoy a traditional meal in the lodge’s restaurant followed by an evening of entertainment provided by Samburu traditional dancers. You may also want to relax at the lounge with a Tusker beer, or conversation with friends.

The lodge is built to reflect the architectural heritage of the local communities whose sons and daughters make up the majority of the work force at the lodge. Fifteen cottages, each with two bedrooms are built in an arch formation on either side of the public areas to surround the waterhole but leaving a wide gap to allow the animals free movement to the water.
