ACCOMMODATION
Satao Camp offers its guests the classical ‘Out of Africa’ experience. Spacious tented accommodation is complemented by first-class cuisine and genuine hospitality. Your time at Satao is yours to do as much or as little as you please, and our attentive team will ensure you are always well cared for. Every guest is warmly welcomed into our Satao family.

The camp boasts 20 authentic safari style en-suite tents, each with private verandahs, nestled among the tamarind trees surrounding the camp’s very own watering hole. The tents are carefully positioned to allow uninterrupted views of the visiting wildlife whilst ensuring total privacy.

There are 16 tents and 4 suites. The tents interiors are simply exquisite. All are attractively furnished to a unique African design. The suites are larger and positioned closest to the water hole. Satao Camp tents are suitably designed & adapted to cater for guests with disabilities.

Our tents are large enough to accommodate extra beds.

WINING AND DINING
When it comes to wining and dining, you would never believe you are in the African bush. Satao Camp’s chefs prepare a tasty range of dishes all prepared with the freshest ingredients. After your early morning game drive, enjoy breakfast with eggs cooked to order. Lunch is served ‘al-fresco’ under a 200-year old Tamarind tree where you can enjoy watching the elephants at the watering hole. And dinner is served in the restaurant area, usually followed by nightcaps around the campfire. Private dining and bush dinners can also be arranged.

From the Lodge, you can look out onto the three water holes and see the ever-changing Panorama of Africa unfold right before your eyes and at the same time enjoy the luxury of waiters’ service. There is a special ‘HIDE’ for the camera enthusiasts affording close-up and candid pictures of the wild animals which do not suspect any human presence.

This is an ideal spot from which to go out in search of the ‘BIG FIVE’ – Elephant, Lion, Buffalo, Leopard and Rhino. From Voi you have speedy and easy access to either the Tsavo East or Tsavo West portions of this National Park. Voi is also an ideal for exploring Taita Hills, including the fertile farmland secluded high in Taita hills surrounding Wundanyi, reached by excellent mountain road which affords splendid views as far as the Coast.

Accommodation
Salt Lick Safari Lodge has 96 unique rooms, all elevated on stilts and built across two levels, with ensuite bathrooms with permanent showers and WC, and running hot and cold water. We can accommodate you in these rooms at three levels with double, twin or triple beds depending on your preferred occupancy.

DINING
The central dining room and the alfresco rock-built bar at Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge were beautifully designed and decorated in the local style to offer an unforgettable dining experience. The dining room features a stone terrace overlooking the wildlife-filled water hole and the bar offers comfortable day beds with majestic views of the rolling Chyulu Hills.

Each dish is crafted from the finest meats, dairy products, fruits and vegetables sourced from the communities bordering Tsavo Park. Breakfast is complimentary to all hotel guests. In typical safari-style, we offer a ‘full English breakfast’ as well as European options. Breakfast and lunch are presented in buffet-style and feature a wide range of international choices encompassing meat, poultry, fish and vegetarian selections.
